Blockchain and digital trust: Archipels joins the FnTC (Fédération des Tiers de Confiance du Numérique)

Paris, 17 May 2021 - Created in 2020 by Caisse des Dépôts, EDF, Engie and La Poste to provide Europeans with high value-added digital trust services, Archipels has decided to become a member of the Fédération des Tiers de Confiance du Numérique (FnTC). The company has developed a document certification platform based on Blockchain technology. The concept is simple: to verify the identity of natural and legal persons - particularly in the context of KYC procedures - by certifying documents and data directly at the source: the issuer.

The merger between Archipels, which certifies 10 million documents with probative value every month, and the Fédération des Tiers de Confiance du Numérique, one of the most visible organisations in the digital ecosystem today, which brings together software publishers, service providers, experts, regulated professionals and institutional structures with the aim of serene digitalisation, therefore seems obvious. " Archipels is, in the truest sense of the word, a true trusted third party by authenticating documents that are essential for entering into a relationship, which helps to avoid very common cases of fraud. Furthermore, we share common ethics and values, so the Federation is very happy to welcome Archipels ", says Philippe Sanchis, Secretary General of the FnTC, and CEO of Vialink, who adds " Archipels will bring us a lot: they have real technological know-how on the Blockchain. It is a guarantee of expertise and exchanges with other FnTC members ".

" Archipels, under the impetus of its four founders, the Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations, La Poste, EDF and Engie, is positioning itself on the subject of digital trust, by building a trust infrastructure based on Blockchain technology, in the service of the fight against fraud, and identity management for individuals and companies ", explains Hervé Bonazzi, CEO of Archipels. "As a result, as a new player from major players in terms of trust for citizens and businesses, we wanted to join the FnTC

Archipels will obviously participate in the working group on Blockchain, " but also KYC and RGPD ", announces Hervé Bonazzi. " We are indeed marketing a first service for KYC operators, in order to facilitate and strengthen controls, while fighting against document fraud. We are also working on a "privacy by design" approach and we want to help push this approach forward, particularly in accordance with the RGPD. We also want to demonstrate that RGPD and blockchain are compatible, and that blockchain technology is in the interest of privacy and personal data protection.
